Brendon Timmins

Brendon is all about assisting people to become better versions of themselves. With many years of experience in the corporate world, education, and professional sport, he now applies his knowledge to designing and facilitating bespoke team building programs, guest speaking and coaching.

He has developed a wide and adaptable skill set through work and life experience both within New Zealand and internationally, including Japan and China. Brendon has been a part of the tertiary education sector since 2006 and has been an invited guest lecturer at the Shangai Institute of Technology.

Brendon was in the Otago Highlanders rugby team for several years, and also has a wealth of experience in coaching athletes.

“As a sportsman I understand that success doesn’t happen by chance. There is a massive amount of effort put in behind the scenes in the hope that the individual/team gain the reward they are striving for. I have lived it on both sides of the line, and love sharing those learnings with others”.

For Brendon, be it in the education and facilitation sector, or as a player or coach on the field, the drive is to grow individuals and teams to achieve their desired outcomes.

“It’s those golden moments when you see the delight in the people who you are working with see the fruition of their hard mahi come to life. That could be as small as finally understanding a concept in the classroom that has been eluding them or as great as walking across the stage at graduation in front of their whanau and friends”.

When he is not working or spending time with his wife and three children, Brendon loves the physical and mental challenge of learning the art and craft of Waka Ama. He is the current President of the Fire in Ice Outrigger Canoe Club Inc here in Otepoti. He is a panellist in an Iwi and Police partnership called Te Pae Oraka, a restorative justice programme, and on the Otago University Rugby Football Club Light Blues Committee.
