I hadn't really put too much thought into the content of the Turning Point course beforehand, as my biggest concern was actually just attending.
I've never been one to stray from my comfort zone and the thought of breaking my very safe routine by mixing with new people, in a new environment and knowing that there are always some sort of role play exercises at these things, made me very nervous indeed. I have to admit I walked in with a bit of a defensive attitude and an air of 'I know this stuff and I don't need to be here'.
The material wasn't new to me, but because of the way it was presented I was able to grasp things on a completely different level. More importantly, I was able to see where I could apply this knowledge to different areas of my life and successfully set up goals and work towards achieving them. Due to Richard's very genuine and kind nature and the total respect he gave everyone, we had a the safest environment to begin to explore. At no point did I feel that I was being forced into anything that was beyond me and I went from initially thinking 'you've got to be kidding!' to wanting to be part of as much as I could. It was very clear by the end of the course that yes, I really did need to be there.
Since attending Turning Point, I'm not such a 'comfort zone dweller' anymore. With self-awareness and knowledge, I've gained confidence in my personal life and working environment. I'm more prepared to take risks and I've begun to celebrate the successes - the rest I learn from. From my own experience and seeing the positive shifts in others, I highly recommend Turning Point.
